Yesterday I started my fourth novel. Here’s all the info (which will no doubt be completely different when the book comes out in 2013):
- I have no idea what this novel is going to be called. We’re calling it UNTITLED now cos that’s what it is.
- I’m planning on writing 100,000 words before March 2012 (with a view to having 80,000 for the first draft)
- I’ve planned 26 chapters and over 100 scenes
- My main characters are called Ophelia, Eliza, Paddy and Ed. There’s also Larry, Tabitha, and Jonathan.
- It’s set in London and Buckinghamshire in the 1970s, 1980s and also 2013.
- It’s going to be fun, but there’s some seedy elements to the story – think rent boys, strip clubs, racism, wayward fathers and suicide
- But despite the sad stuff, it’s unashamedly chick-lit. It’s the equivalent of a Katy Perry album. Think hot pink sticky bubblegum in an urban setting. Yo.
- There’s going to be a happy ending and true love. Of course.

PS, my next novel, ALL THAT GLITTERS, is out July 2012. You can pre-order it now and when it arrives it will be like the best surprise in the world. I promise.
